8 is a mere number. However, it is more. In numerology, it means harvest time, more than enough. Over the years, it has become my favorite number. To me personally it means that God can “do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20, 21 NIV).
All throughout the New Testament we see incredible energy and excitement in the life and times of Christ and those who committed their lives to Him. In his letters to the churches, the apostle Paul was always on the go and working with people and their needs. Even from prison Paul was writing letters and praying for the people he wanted so bad to know more about Jesus Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. When I think of the multiple ministries of the early Apostles and their commitment to the gospel of Christ I, too, am inspired by 8 Ministries and the opportunity touch this world for the gospel.
Today there is still the urgent need for ministries to flourish and bring the sweeping Light of Christ across a world of darkness. 8 Ministries is the combination of several ministries to bring more Light into this world. With God there is always “more than enough.” He, Himself, has established a law that cannot be broken. As we give ourselves in ministry to him he gives back even more. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured in your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Luke 6:38 NIV).
Never before, have people needed ministry more. In a world of wars, terrorism, stressful jobs and so much instability within the home and governments, people are longing for spiritual support, a feeling of appreciation and the “peace that passes (transcends) all understanding” (Philippians 4:7 RKJV).
The creation of 8 Ministries gives a living, breathing, vital opportunity for others to share their God-given gifts. It is the prayer of its founder to open doors for those who want to make a difference in this world for Jesus Christ. God is the God of “More”! We are “more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37 NIV). He has so much more for you and me. He wants to see a harvest in your life and mine. He wants to see your cup running over. The same God who created heaven and earth wants to create more in you and He can. It is the prayer of 8 Ministries that this will happen in your life, your home and your business. If you believe that Christ can transform human hearts and change the lives of people forever, we ask you to join us in this ministry.
